How do I know? I did it.
Last summer, I read a widely popular book by a blogger-turned-media mogul. It sounded like a book about saying Sorry too much.
But it's not.
The book is about living in to your hugest dreams--without apology for the drive & dedication to make them happen.
A worthwhile message, for sure.
And?
Three-quarters of the way through the book, I set it down beside me and laughed. Because this book was So. Not. Me.
I had myself a reality trip, there on that lakeside bench. And later, I summed it up to a friend:
You know what? My aspirations just aren't that high. All I want is to live as meaningful a life as possible...however big or small the scale might be.
I just so happened to be conceptualizing a new website at the time:
A secular, intentional space to embrace One Word and call it Home.
Why?
Because one particular word helped me change my life a few years back, and I want to see what else we can do together.
Some talented people have the drive to do it all. Or at least make it look like they do. Reading that book last summer, I knew I'd have to choose:
Make something sexy and learn how to market
or
Make a space for building my meaningful life and
humbly invite you in.
